IFZ

The Inter-University Research Centre for Technology, Work and Culture was established in 1988.
 
Working within the critical areas of debate between science and policy, reflection and intervention, the prime objective of IFZ’s interdisciplinary team of 18 experts is to contribute to socially and environmentally sound, sustainable and gender-equitable technology design.
 
IFZ is the Graz unit of the Institute of Science and Technology Studies at Alpen-Adria-Universität Klagenfurt. The department belongs to the Faculty for Interdisciplinary Studies (IFF). A strong cooperation exists with the University of Graz and the Graz University of Technology.

The institute is mainly financed through research contracts. Our clients and partners include governmental bodies at municipal, provincial, federal and international level along with research institutions and companies. The institute receives institutional sponsorship from the Province of Styria and City of Graz.
