The Institute for Advanced Studies offers international Research Fellows (up to nine months' stay) and Visiting Scholars (around one month's stay) the opportunity to investigate the social implications of scientific and technological developments. Scientists wishing to conduct research into the links and interactions between science, technology and society will find the ideal conditions and a stimulating research environment at the IAS-STS.
The IAS-STS also acts as a forum for international experts to exchange their ideas. This critical discourse allows us to further increase the quality of scientific work undertaken at the Institute. In turn, this benefits both the international Fellows and other scientists working at Graz-based educational and research facilities.
The IAS-STS fits in perfectly with the university and non-university research landscape in Graz, particularly by supporting the policy of sustainable technology development.
