My stay at IAS-STS enriched my life a great deal, both academically and personally! At IAS-STS I was able to focus on my work, which was preparing an ethnographic study, while discussing with other fellows recent developments of theory in the STS field.
We learned a lot from each other: how to conduct empirical research, theoretical discussions, funding, the insides of research...
A significant outcome of my time at IAS-STS was the forming of an international group which collaborates to study environmental issues informed by STS. The people of Graz provided a great social context for my stay. I soon found friends at the social centre "Spektral". At Spektral I was able to return some of the energy I received at IAS-STS into the local community. With both kinds of communities, fellows and social centre activists, I undertook a number of hikes in the Austrian mountains. A great experience - in all respects. Thank you!
